A Message from the President

I will forgo the trite comments on this bitter cold and unpredictable weather we are having this year! I trust you are finding ways to stay warm, safe and comfortable. In spite of the weather, there is much going on at “KAPT Headquarters” here in Kentucky!

The Board has worked long and hard to bring our Operations Manual into alignment with our Bylaws. We, especially, thank Diane Butler for her initial review of all the areas in each document that caused dissonance; this was a huge undertaking! In a few cases we have determined that the Bylaws are outdated, given the dominant methods of communication we use today and APT’s changes in how it relates to branches and what the expectations are of each partner. Our proposed Bylaws’ changes are on our website and we invite you to review the current and proposed Bylaws prior to the annual membership meeting on March 12, 2010. The professional members present on that day will vote on adopting those proposed changes. Mostly, we revised our Operations Manual to better provide specifics regarding the intentions of the Bylaws and offer guidance and refinement to leadership on the Board regarding the duties and expectations of each Board Member.
